Are your countertops hard-to-clean, damaged, or simply outdated?
Are the countertops in your home, rental property, or commercial facility beginning to show their age?
Countertops made from cultured marble, ceramic tile, Formica, and other types of laminates have been popular for decades. However, color and design trends change often and before you realize it your home, or rental units can become dated looking, hard to rent, and in need of a facelift. And let’s face it, regardless of what color you choose to paint the walls, or what type of flooring you decide to upgrade to those hunter green countertops everyone loved in the 90’s just won’t fit into the modernly updated color scheme you hope to achieve, no matter how hard you try.
The good news is all of these surfaces can be refinished in as little as one day, with a modern solid color, or beautiful stone, granite, or marble like finish. Even if your existing countertops are chipped, cracked, or have burn marks, the skilled refinishers at Armortech can repair and resurface them with a brand new, durable, and modern looking surface that will fit beautifully into your updated décor. And, we can do it for only a fraction of the cost of traditional countertop removal and replacement.
Even for a handy DIY homeowner replacing a countertop can be a costly and time-consuming undertaking. In addition to the actual cost of the replacement material for the countertop, you have demolition, labor and possibly even plumbing costs associated with the project. Not to mention the disposal and dump fees, grout, caulk, etc… you get the picture.
So, before you tear out and replace your existing countertops, call the refinishing pros at Armortech Resurfacing.
For much less than the cost of traditional countertop removal and replacement, our highly trained and factory certified countertop refinishers can apply a brand new, durable, easy to clean, modern surface to your countertops. And, it can be done without the demolition and exorbitantly high-costs associated with traditional methods of countertop replacement.
What exactly is countertop refinishing?
Countertop refinishing is a process in which specialized equipment, products, and techniques are used to apply a new, hard and durable epoxy surface over an existing countertop. Professional countertop refinishing is a smart, practical, and affordable means of completely changing the look of your existing countertop without the need for removal, or replacement.
What color options are available?
In addition to the many solid color options we have available, our expert countertop refinishers can also recreate the look of stone, granite, or even your favorite marble finish.
Upgrade to a modern bullnose countertop profile
If you would like, our technicians can also upgrade the square and boxy look of your laminate countertops with a modern bullnose trim prior to refinishing to give your updated countertops a distinctive, and authentic solid surface look.
Countertop refinishing techniques work equally well on kitchen & bathroom countertops, vanities, bars, and cultured marble.
Can you explain the countertop refinishing process?
At Armortech, we use several different methods and techniques which vary depending on the countertop material to be resurfaced, and the desired look to be achieved.
Briefly, the steps involved are as follows. After a thorough cleaning with specialized industrial cleaners, which remove any, oils, dirt, grease, or soap residue on the surface, any needed repairs to the surface such as chips, cracks, etc., will be made.
If you have requested a new bullnose edge, it will be installed at this time. After which, the surface will be prepped for primer, by “roughing” the surface to be refinished. In the case of a ceramic tile countertop, this is accomplished by acid etching the surface. Whereas, cultured marble and laminates like Formica will instead receive a thorough and detailed sanding to prepare the surface. Once the prep work is complete, an appropriate primer and bonding agent is applied to promote adhesion of the new top coats. Depending on the type of look and finish you have requested several consecutive applications may be required. As a general rule, solid color, stone, and faux granite finishes will be applied with specialized spray equipment, while faux marble and other custom looks may require techniques that are applied by hand.
Regardless of the techniques used, when we are done your countertops will not only look great, they will be easy to maintain, and be ready to provide you years of extended service.
How long does the whole process take?
While the size of the area being refinished and the type of finish being applied do play a factor in the time needed to complete a particular project. As a general rule, most countertops are able to be completed in only one or two days.
Refinishing your existing countertops will save you both time & money.
